A History Lesson in Socialism
by Kevin Scott
(May 15, 2010)
It has never worked over time.
Europe has always dithered between
socialism and fascism. Our ancestors
fled from Europe to come to America,
where people were free to pursue
their lives without government
interference. Now we have socialist
Democrats trying to convert the U.S.
to socialism. Stop them now,
and set their cause back 100 years.
Vote for America, not the Socialist
Democrat party. Don't listen to what
they say. Rather, just watch what
they
do now and in the past. Look at the
cowards running away from the 2010
elections, because
they know they were wrong voting for
Obamacide.
Obama
was elected president of the U.S.
amidst a
financial crisis; the nation was
nearing bankruptcy and outlays
outpaced income. This was partly
because of wars in Iraq and
Afghanistan Early in his
tenure, various personnel were
dismissed after they lost
favor-Daschle, etc. The next year foreign
governments with little to no
involvement in the wars, were
experiencing the same financial
crisis, brought on by
socialistic societal excesses
Most realized that the country's tax
system subjected some to an unfair
burden;
numerous exemptions
existed for the rich, while some
paid little or no taxes, thereby
shifting the tax burden to the most
productive people in the society,
the middle class..
They argued that the country could
not be taxed higher, that tax
exemptions for the rich should be
removed, and proposed that borrowing
would solve the country's fiscal
problems. Supporters of Obama
advocated and published
reports to support this claim that
significantly underestimated the
deficit and the impact of the rising
unemployment. This was not received
well by Obama who was hoping
to solidify his position. Obama and
the Democrats continued to
spend liberally, but quickly
realized the critical financial
situation required a new
tax code. The proposal included
a consistent VAT, which would
include taxation of the rich and the
clergy, a signal that Obama and the
Democrats were not agents of change,
but traditional tax and spend
Democrats.
One
overlooked point in the current
financial crisis is that the tax
increases approved by law by the end
of April, 2010, are virtually
equivalent to the total income tax
paid by all Americans per year, for
the last several years. What this
means is that regardless of where
the taxes are imposed, American
citizens have had their overall tax
burden increased by almost 100% in
the 15 months Obama has been in
office. And it isn't over.
And
to conclude the history lesson, the
description above is a synopsis of
the financial mess behind the French
Revolution. Only the names and a few
sentences were changed to bring the
description into the current
situation in America, and for that
matter, the world. The clergy was
also a target of the French, as a
VAT also targets clergy and low
income persons
that have previously been exempted
from direct taxing at the federal
level. History showed that in a
participatory constitutional
republic, all citizens must
participate in the financing of the
government, in accordance with their
ability to pay.
While
narrow-minded historians might be able to nit-pick
this article a bit, the message we
should all take from it is to read
about the French Revolution, read
about what is happening in Greece
and soon to be other EU nations,
then take a look at the Social
Democrats in America today. The
differences are few. If you are
comfortable with the redistribution
of national wealth and pandering to
voting blocs by the Social
Democrats, then vote for them to
remain in power.
If you think that
America is on the wrong track, you
have 2 choices. 1) don't vote (not
recommended) or 2) vote against the
Social Democrats----vote for the
Republicans. On the whole, America
has done better economically when
the Republicans are running our
government. History of the last 75
years will attest to that. We have
seen what the Democrats can and will
do when they are the majority party. Obamacide has
been thoroughly rejected by the
American people, and it is
discredited more and more as the
2700 page document is widely read, yet today it is the
law. In the best interests of our
society, Obamacide must be
overturned, and an affordable, cost
savings market based health care
plan implemented before Obamacide
bankrupts America. If Obama and the Social
Democrats remain in power, America
will be bombarded with social
justice legislation, which in
reality, is just giving all power to
the federal government over your
lives, covered by a fancy name that
means nothing
. If you like the way America
was pre-Obama, then vote the
Republicans in with a mandate to
reverse Obamacide and any other
initiatives of social justice. It
has a nice name, but it equates to
you ceding your liberty to the
federal government. Ask yourself,
ask your unemployed friend or
neighbor:
"How is Obama-change working out for
you"?
