MY REPLY TO AN EMAIL FROM JOHN MCCAIN

My Friends,

Today, voters across the country will head to the polls to cast their votes and voice their opinions. Experts are looking to tonight's election results as referendums on the public's approval of our current Democratic majorities in Congress.

And if the outcomes of the elections are what I suspect, they will send a message that voters are clearly frustrated with our current Democratic leadership in Washington, D.C.

Americans are angry and have every reason to be. Under the Democrats' leadership, there is a looming threat of government-run health care; our national debt has soared to over $9 trillion, and we have yet to see the jobs President Obama promised his trillion-dollar stimulus package would create.

But my friend, the good news is that in less than one year we will have the opportunity to elect a new majority to restore fiscal responsibility in Washington and grow our economy. I hope to be part of this majority if I am reelected to the United States Senate, and today I am asking for your continued support.

Over the past year, I have traveled around Arizona and the country listening to your concerns. I know that our government is spending at an unprecedented rate and that Democrats have shut out conservative voices on health care reform.

I want you to know that I am fighting to address these very issues and to continue my fight, I need your support. Your contribution of any amount today will strengthen my reelection bid to continue my service in the Senate.

As Americans we are facing some of the most challenging times in the history of our country. To meet these challenges, I plan to work with my fellow representatives in Washington who share our values of cutting deficit spending, creating jobs and keeping our nation secure.

I look forward to continuing my fight for fiscal responsibility, real health care reform and a strong national defense and I want to continue my service to the people of Arizona and this nation. That's why I ask that you join my reelection campaign today with a generous contribution today.

Sincerely,

John McCain
John,

I know that America was hoodwinked by Obama, and if you were elected, many of todays problems wouldn't exist. But quite honestly, I don't think that you represent the solution for America. Last night I attended the Houston Tea Party at the Sam Houston Race Track. It was reported by the Chronicle that there were over 10,000 people there. The organizers said during the presentations that they had been told the total was closer to 15,000. Whatever the right number, there were a lot of Republicans, Democrats, and Independents there. I can tell you that most of them do not support your views as to the solutions needed to fix the mess that Obama and the Democrats have made.

I know that you are a moderate, looking for bi-partisan, compromise solutions to the relevant issues of the day. While I voted for you, I believe you are totally wrong in your efforts to get bi-partisanship with the Democrats, because you have been too generous with your compromises, resulting in potentially bad results. I speak particularly of the illegal alien issue, the health care issue, etc. There are other issues where I am not sure of your position, but it seems that whatever gets done by Democrat controlled or Republican controlled congresses, the resultants appear to lean towards the left, while the country leans more to the right. What this means is that you and some  are perceived as "selling out principles" of the average citizen. You do not represent us!

Health care reform is an easy issue that the Democrats have made a difficult issue. We all agree that the time has come to include all Americans and we are willing to help pay for it, , but a government bureaucracy is the last thing needed to solve the problems. Obama talks of sacrifice, but not for himself, congress, or the trial lawyers.

Social security gets no COLA, but congress and government workers get COLA's. Where is the sacrifice by everyone?

From a purely economic approach, the whole concept of government provided and even employer provided insurance gets away from what insurance is all about. Our employers don't provide auto insurance. Congress doesn't provide auto insurance. Sure there are differences, but the marketplace should be defining what can be done, and congress's job is oversight/minimal regulations to define boundaries and playing rules to keep the public from being exploited. We have to address the provision of emergency care, to root out illegal aliens, and to prevent exploitation of people not paying for insurance, then going to emergency rooms for treatment, and not paying bills they are capable of paying, before or after the fact.

We all know why the Democrats always position the Republicans as the anti-anything group, while they are positioning themselves as the champions of the poor. They are trolling for voters, and their demographics and positions on issues just confirms that they are for all the reckless spending which you oppose, but those at the bottom rungs of our society become their supporters, whether they do anything or not. You have allowed about 40% of the people to not pay any income taxes. Who do you think they think accomplished this, and who do you think they vote for? This is sheer stupidity allowing this for so many people. Who does the thinking for the Republicans?

So when I look at what you are doing, all I see are wealthy congresspeople asking for money from all citizens that congress has been screwing for the last 50 years or more. It is just a form of the protection rackets of the 1930's except Congress is the thugs . Give me your money or something bad will happen to you. You want me to pay you to fix what you helped screw up. What I see, is that the best protection I can buy, is to work to send everyone that votes for the Obama outrages, back to where they came from. Term limits, reduced compensation, no exemptions from laws you make, eliminate congress from voting on any financial issue that directly effects them, and so forth.

As I recently put on my political website, "America trusts politicians as far as we can throw a manhole cover".

Please share this email with your friends in Congress.
